Paddle UK's Liverpool Historic Docks route takes paddlers past some of the city's most recognisable landmarks

Paddle UK has revealed one of Liverpool’s most unique experiences; seeing the city’s iconic waterfront from the perspective of the water itself.

Thousands visit Liverpool’s historic docks each year, but few realise they can paddle board through the heart of the waterfront and experience the city this way. Paddle UK's Liverpool Historic Docks routetakes paddlers past some of the city's most recognisable landmarks, including the Royal Albert Dock, the Three Graces and the wider UNESCO-listed waterfront area.

While paddling through the docks, visitors can expect to experience a unique mix of maritime history, waterside views and urban adventure.  It's also a great example of how paddlesports can help people connect with blue spaces while enjoying the wellbeing benefits of spending time on the water. As paddleboarding continues to grow in popularity across the UK, Paddle UK says urban waterways are becoming an increasingly popular way for people to experience cities, offering an accessible and memorable alternative to traditional sightseeing.

Rich Ramsdale, Head of Recreation at Paddle UK said: “People are increasingly looking for movement that makes them feel good, physically and mentally and paddlesports offer exactly that. Whether it’s paddleboarding with friends, a peaceful kayak after work or exploring somewhere new by water, paddling gives people the chance to slow down, switch off and reconnect with nature. We’re seeing more and more people discovering that getting on the water doesn’t just improve fitness, it improves wellbeing too.”
