15 Liverpool restaurants have been shortlisted for an award
The nominations for this year’s British Restaurant Awards have been announced with Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Levi Roots, Ainsley Harriot, Gino D’Campo, Aldo Zilli, Heston Blumenthal and Simon Rimmer all making the shortlist.
The awards focus on raising the profile of British restaurants worldwide.
British Restaurant Awards (BRA) is an annual awards ceremony that provides an opportunity for customers to nominate and vote for the best restaurants, chefs, and culinary experiences in the UK. The awards focus on raising the profile of British restaurants worldwide and providing an opportunity for customers to voice their opinions.
The nominees for "Best Restaurant in Liverpool" are:
- Manifest
- Roski
- Belgica
- Lerpwl
- Mamasan Liverpool
- Bakchich
- Fraiche
- Panoramic 34
- Wreckfish Bistro
- Noso
- Maray
Manifest in the Baltic Quarter is also in the running for “Best Culinary Experience”, up against the likes of Peter Street Kitchen (Manchester), Le Gavroche (London) and The Ivy Asia, Guildford (Surrey). Liverpool Confidential editor, Vicky Andrews, scored Manifest 17 out of 20 in her review in May of this year. The restaurant has gone on to be named as one of the Michelin Guide favourites.
Elite 60 on Hope Street in Liverpool's Georgian Quarter is nominated for the “Best New Restaurant” award. After the success of three Liverpool restaurants (and one in Bolton) chef Bayram Yuce opened Elite 60 in December 2021.
Nominees for “Best Restaurant Chain” include Gourmet Burger Kitchen, German Doner Kebab and Honest Burgers.
Earlier in the year, readers of Chelsea Monthly magazine, The National Post, and members of the World Restaurant Awards Guide ( WRAG) were given the opportunity to nominate their favourite restaurants per city, region, and throughout the UK.
The restaurants that receive the most number of nominations are shortlisted and released for the public to vote. The final list of winners as voted for by the public will be announced at The Sway in London on 12 September 2022.
Popular chefs Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Levi Roots, Ainsley Harriot, Gino D’Campo, Aldo Zilli, Heston Blumenthal, Simon Rimmer, and more top chefs are all up for the Best Chef 2022 category.
