After a £100k refurb, Roxy Liverpool re-opens with new cutting-edge games and an outdoor terrace
Liverpool’s premier gaming bar will reopen on 27th August with a fresh new look and a unique collection of games not available at any other UK Roxy venue.
Roxy on Hanover St. has undergone a remarkable transformation that includes new flooring and funky graffiti throughout the venue from the creative mind of artist Eject.
Hanover St. will also be our first venue to offer Crazy Pool and Bank Shot Shuffleboard, two insanely playable new games
The over 18’s only booze and ball games bar originally opened back in 2016 in the trendy Liverpool ONE district, and was the very first Roxy Leisure venue outside of Yorkshire.
Like so many plans in 2020, the refurbishment took far longer than expected due to the pandemic, but the results make it well worth the wait.
The slick new venue will be kitted out with Olympic standard butterfly ping-pong tables, full-length 18-foot shuffleboard tables and beer pong battle stations. Roxy Liverpool Hanover St. is also proud to be the first venue to offer Crazy Pool - an extremely playable mash-up of crazy golf and pool. Players must navigate a variety of obstacles to pot the ball on a waist-high mini-golf course, using a pool cue instead of a putter. The Crazy Pool room will be bathed in eye-catching UV light and is poised to become a future classic amongst Roxy fans.
Another brand new game set to switch-up the gaming world is Bank Shot Shuffleboard, which will debut at Hanover St. very soon. This new twist on the immensely popular game features a shuffleboard that loops back on itself and is banked so that the puck goes around and back into the scoring area.
Guests looking to catch some rays whilst enjoying Roxy’s signature range of craft beers, cocktails, pizzas, and burgers can now do so on the spacious outdoor terrace, which comfortably seats 75 people.
The Roxy team have been meticulous when it comes to ensuring the safety of both their customers and employees. The entrance to the bar will feature a sanitising station, where visitors will be required to clean their hands before being seated.
Ordering and paying for food and drink can be done by scanning the QR code, or by asking your server who will bring the order straight to the table. All gaming areas, machines and tables will be thoroughly cleaned after each booking and hand sanitiser will be dotted throughout the venue. Disposable gloves will be available on request for anyone wanting extra peace of mind.
Due to popular demand, guests are advised to book their table in advance, however, walk-ins are still possible and subject to availability. Roxy Brand Development Manager, Joel Mitchell, had this to say ahead of the relaunch:
‘’We were gutted when lockdown meant postponing the Roxy Liverpool Hanover St. re-launch, however, it has allowed us to make our offering even bigger and better than originally planned. Liverpool Hanover St. will also be our first venue to offer Crazy Pool and Bank Shot Shuffleboard, two insanely playable new games that we know you’re all going to love.’’
''The outdoor seating area and strict post-COVID measures we have in place mean you can expect the same electric atmosphere that defines the Roxy brand in a safe and responsible manner. We're counting down the days to bring Liverpool's number one gaming bar back and can’t wait to see you on the 27th August.’’
