WHAT is opening a restaurant for if you can't have fun? Especially when it's got a massive garden to play in?
The people at one of Liverpool Confidential's new best Americana joints, Free State Kitchen, have decided to get into summer with a big launch party for the garden this coming Bank Holiday, May 29.
“To celebrate the opening of the gorgeous Free State Kitchen Garden,” they say, “we'll be holding a day of fun and frolics outside.
Free State Kitchen“There will be ice cream for little ones, hot dogs on the lawn, and the main highlight will be our first ever pie eating competition.”
For the folk in the Liverpool Confidential loop, this holds no fear. But are you brave enough to enter and be crowned the Champion Supreme and win a place on their wall of fame?
You have to be able to eat three pies with no hands for the challenge, which runs between 2pm and 3pm.
But in order to prove you are worthy, first you have to email or tweet a picture of your best pie face with the hashtag #pieface.
So dig in. Just make sure you don't eat yourself into a shallow gravy.
