Open Restaurant Group has taken over the former Wreck Bistro
Liverpool-born restaurateurs Open Restaurant Group, founded by chef Andrew Sheridan and his business partner Sam Morgan, has opened a New York-inspired restaurant and bar on Liverpool’s Ropewalks named after the two streets the corner plot sits on; Seel & Slater.
Taking over Wreck Bistro, formerly owned by Gary Usher, the pair have transformed the restaurant into two concepts; ‘Seel’, an upstairs restaurant component, and ‘Slater’, a ground floor 1940s style cocktail bar set to open next month.
With 45 restaurant covers, Seel is open seven days a week serving everything from breakfast to dinner, featuring standout dishes like parmesan doughnuts, lobster lasagna and a tiramisu cheesecake tart.
This new opening takes the brand’s portfolio of restaurants up to 11 venues, with Counter in Manchester expected to open next month.
