JUST as Jamie Carragher is about to set new career goals, so his restaurant gaff is about to get a rebranding.

Cafe Sports Express, in Liverpool One, is to become Moments, a “high-end brasserie” which will launch at the end of this month.

Reflecting Carragher's role on the pitch, the Cafe Sports Express brand was all about promoting healthy food and lean and mean high protein dishes.

But what's this? Could it be that the WAGs have taken over?

Instead of dozens of plasma tellies pumping out wall to wall footie on Sky Sports, there will be a “wall of fame in tribute to Liverpool’s glamorous and fashion conscious women” which will be unveiled at the opening on 22 July.

“The new venue will serve luxury desserts the likes of which the city has never seen before.”

The Flanagan Group, which owns the Newz Bar and The Sir Thomas Hotel - under the name City Life Projects - is behind all this, a joint venture with the former Liverpool star, promising “a sophisticated, stylish and continental inspired environment”.

By night, it says here: “Moments will come alive as Liverpool’s most cosmopolitan bar offering an impressive selection of drinks from a comprehensive list of wine, champagne and cocktails”.

The man behind the concept, Paul Flanagan, says: “It reflects a demand for a quality brasserie at the heart of Liverpool One. I think it will appeal to Liverpool’s glamorous women and fashion conscious personalities and well as the many thousands of visitors the city continues to attract every year.”

For the moment, the original Cafe Sports England on Stanley Street, will be spared the “Moment” and will launch a new menu later this summer.
