Harley Young spends a night at Manchester’s newest city centre hotel
The newest city centre hotel has opened its doors, towering high above Deansgate Castlefield tram stop in a location that couldn’t be more central if it tried.
Aloft by Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 exceptional brands, is the largest Aloft by Marriott in Europe with 358 bedrooms and ample space for guests to relax and unwind after a packed day exploring the city.
Developed by Dean Street Developments, the hotel rooms offer panoramic views across the city skyline as well as modern facilities including a large comfy bed, smart TV, rainfall shower, complimentary WiFi and tea and coffee making facilities. Designed to be sleek and simple but with decorative nods to Manchester’s industrial heritage throughout, it’s the ideal place for tourists and those travelling for business to reside in the thick of it.
Families are well catered for with Camp Aloft®, a dedicated programme for kids, while pets are welcomed through Arf® (Animals R Fun) which offers dedicated in-room amenities including toys and treats.
Those who like to keep on top of their PBs whilst travelling can take advantage of the 24-hour fitness centre, while a private meeting space is available to book for those on business.
With an entrance straight off of Deansgate, guests are greeted by the check-in desk and open plan lounge featuring W XYZ® Bar, a place to enjoy craft cocktails, eclectic cuisine and a live music schedule of local up-and-coming musicians. On the ground floor, they’ll also find Re:Fuel by Aloft®; the brand's grab-and-go food and drinks hub. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a buffet-style breakfast of hot and cold food at their leisure in the hotel’s restaurant.
Room rates start from £95, and Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points across their stay, with access to mobile check-in and digital key functionality through the Marriott Bonvoy app.
