Ormskirk's new food hall is officially open for business
Scandi-style oysters, Greek gyros and Shanghai noodles are all on the menu at Ormskirk Food & Drink Market as the food hall opens for business after a six-figure sum investment and refurb.
The historic space has been reimagined with a modern concept.
Six traders have taken up residency in the new site in the former indoor market on Moorgate, originally built back in 1903.
Hospitality entrepreneurs Simon and Fiona Beer of the EPIC brand are behind the new Ormskirk Market and have set out to showcase quality food and drink vendors from the local area. Spanning across two floors, the 10,000 sq ft building has a food hall, bar, mezzanine area, games room and live music stage.
The historic space has been reimagined with a modern concept, similar to that of Liverpool’s Duke Street Food & Drink Market and Mackie Mayor in Manchester.
Lots of the original features remain, although one of the most striking pieces of decor is a large glitter ball in the main room. Live music is planned for the new venue, which is open Thursday to Sunday from midday until midnight with hours extended to 2am on Friday and Saturday.
