Do you know it’s Christmas already? Well it is in the world of event organisation.
Michelin starred celebrity chef Alan Murchison will be talking stuffing and sprouts at a brand new festive event in Liverpool expected to attract 25,000 people, it was announced today.
Murchison, who appeared on the BBC’s Great British Menu both as a contestant and a judge, will hold a string of demos at The Ultimate Christmas Fair later this year.
Taking place at the new Exhibition Centre Liverpool from 26 to 29 November, the event will feature high-end retailers and local businesses among the 250 exhibitors. Live demonstrations and workshops will give visitors tips on how to style their home and table this Christmas and provide inspiration on new festive flavours and extraordinary gift-wrapping touches. So like a trip to Taskers, but bigger.
As part of his stint at the show, Scottish-born Murchison will also showcase recipes for various fish dishes, as well as Christmas main courses and desserts. Other workshops taking place at the four-day event include a “tea masterclass” from loose leaf specialists PHOM.
Elsewhere, for those who make a complete mess of wrapping presents or just end up shoving everything onto one of those glittery bags, there are demos to teach you otherwise.
Steve Burrell, managing director of LXFX Creative Productions – organisers of The Ultimate Christmas Fair – said: “This event is a brand new concept for the North West and one that will hopefully become a key part of the region’s festive calendar.
“We wanted to create an event that offered everything under one roof – from cooking tips to gift ideas, and everything in between – and to have someone like Alan Murchison on board is a major coup for us. New exhibitors are being confirmed every day and the show is consistently evolving, so we’d urge any companies thinking about getting involved to contact us.”
