YEAAHH, booooyyyyyy!  It's being billed as a major coup for Liverpool: the grandfathers of hip hop, Public Enemy are playing the O2 Academy for one night in December.

The multi-platinum, five times Grammy Award nominated artists have been inspiring the disgruntled masses for more than three decades and picked the Fight The Power Pool of Life for their sole 2015 headline date.

In 2013 Public Enemy finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in recognition of their pioneering art form and as role models to younger hip hop and rap performers.

Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Björk, Manic Street Preachers Prodigy and Tricky, all cite Public Enemy in their inspiration, with the band remaining ever significant with albums such as 2007’s How you sell soul to a soulless people who sold their soul.

For many, the band’s message remains as relevant today as it ever was, with Chuck D’s socio-politically inspired lyrics providing an alternative view to the corridors of power today.

Professor Griff delivers the band’s militant tones, whilst hype man, Flavor Flav, brings his own unique humour to the show. Flavor Flav has enjoyed massive success in the United States as an actor, comedian and TV host.

New album, “Man Plans God Laughs” has been receiving much media acclaim since its release in July, adding to the band’s extensive back catalogue including their classic albums ‘It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back’ and 1990’s ‘Fear Of A Black Planet’.
