He'll know if you've been bad or good - or simply vile scum

THERE might be no starring panto role for Pete Price this year, but that perennial Ugly Sister isn't going to let the festive spotlight pass him by.

The gobby radio show host has gone and got himself a Christmas gig in a grotto as Father Christmas.

However this grotto is for adults only and you can expect plenty of effing and blinding among the ho ho hos.

Bad Santa: Liverpool gets an adults-only grotto

Price makes his debut as Bad Santa at Camp and Furnace’s six-day Snö Garden winter festival which runs for one week only.

For a small fee, you can pay him a visit and even sit on his knee. Or perhaps not.

"This Santa has claws," it says here. (Well he is known as The Lizard.)

"Dishing out rewards or deciding if a punishment is in order, Pete will be interrogating visitors in his own inimitable way, to find out if they’ve been good or bad elves this year," the communique goes on. "...and whether their names should go on Bad Santa’s hit list or s**t list!"

So it's as classy as it is sassy and speaking about his new act, suddenly announced just four days before the event opens, Price reveals: “The guys at Camp and Furnace got in touch in the summer wanting me to be involved with the festival and they created the Bad Santa role especially for me. I’ve done panto for the last few years and thought it would make a nice change - it’s always more fun to play the baddie.”

The Bad Santa Grotto is just one of many attractions at Snö Garden, which opens on Monday 18 December and runs until Saturday 23 December, and also includes live bands, DJs, cocktail and gin bars, plus street food traders.

The doyen of radio phone-ins, Price has been conspicuous in the Baltic area of late, being spotted backstage at Bongo's Bingo earlier this week. Could it be anything to do with the recently advertised £50k job as host for the housey-house phenomenon as it spreads across the globe? Anything goes!
