Olly Murs, Jason Derulo, Craig David, Labrinth and Busted are among the star studded line up heading for Liverpool as part of Fusion Festival 2016, it was announced today.

The pop weekender, which will be staged at Otterspool in September, is expected to attract 60,000 people. Headliners also include Tinie Tempah, Sigala, The Vamps, Ella Henderson, Jamie Lawson, Nathan Sykes, Lawson, Fleur East and Krept and Konan.

Now in its fourth year and previously staged in Birmingham, Fusion will be held over September 3-September 4 on the banks of the Mersey. Tickets go on sale on Friday with general admission costing £48.50  a day and Gold Circle tickets £82.50. 

Liverpool City Council gave it the go-ahead last month despite dozens of objections from people living in the surrounding area worried about noise, safety and traffic disruption. But as a sweetener, Fusion are offering residents of L17, L18 and L19 a massive 50 percent discount on tickets.

Murs and his band will close the show on Sunday night with a 90 minute show featuring all his classic hits. Since appearing as a contestant on the X Factor in 2009, the entertainer has turned out a string of hits, three number one albums and sells out arenas across the country. 

 


He says here: “This is going to get crazy, Fusion Festival! I cannot wait to get out on that stage and get everybody moving. It’s going to be a send off to remember, you better be there!”

Jason Derulo, American singer, songwriter and dancer whwo has sold over 50 million singles, also says here: “I’m honoured to be headlining Fusion Festival 2016, it’s a great line up and I can’t wait to get out there to perform in Liverpool.”

The Mersey move coincides with the city being declared a UNESCO City of Music and radio station Capital FM is the main media partner.

Tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday, April 8, here and Fusion’s official ticketing partner StubHub.
