IT'S A name that was made to be uttered in a Liverpool accent: "Wahaca". Go on try it.
Of course it doesn't say that in today's blurb about the Mexican "market food" (street food) restaurant coming to the city, but some things are just happy accidents and, to be honest, you'll never be able to walk past it again without giving it the whole hacking "Wahachhhaa!". Or maybe that's just us.
Whatever, College Lane was named today as the latest address of the London chain which which is to open a 160-cover branch in November, right next door to the Good Food Guide's favourite North West restaurant of 2015, Lunya.
It is the concept of former Masterchef winner and cookbook author Thomasina Miers and was born in 2007 in Covent Garden. Now it has outlets across London as well as Manchester and Bristol.
Miers said: “Liverpool is unparalleled as a UK cultural hub, with an established music reputation, amazing art and museums and a food scene that is really taking off. Moving to College Lane was a dream choice for us."
