The city centre cafe has been part of the community for the last 15 years

Popular cafe and restaurant, LEAF on Bold Street, known for its wide selection of teas, announced last night (3 September) that it will be sadly closing its doors.

The announcement was made on social media, where the team wrote: ‘LEAF on Bold Street has been more than just a venue - it’s a beating heart. A place where laughter has echoed, tears have been shared, art has been made, and ideas have bloomed. Being part of the memories, the music, the feelings, and the unforgettable moments here has been a true honour,’ adding ‘This place has meant the world to us.’

The heartfelt post goes on to thank friends, regulars, staff and champions of the venue, acknowledging that LEAF on Bold Street ‘wouldn’t have been the same’ without them.

Co-owned by Natalie and Graham Haywood, the venue will close at 6pm on 21 September but continue to serve food, drinks and loose-leaf teas until then.

LEAF will still continue to operate in its other homes; LEAF on Smithdown Road and at Little LEAF on Old Hall Street
