Because Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without pigging out
TITANIC HOTEL – MINCE PIE MARTINI (£10)
The Titanic Hotel's festive cocktail menu runs throughout December, spicing up taste buds with the likes of gingerbread hot gin and Christmas Cosmo. Mince pie martini might be the biggest cracker though: forget brandy sauce, it’s all about the Bacardi. Titanic Hotel Rum Bar, Stanley Dock, Regent Road, L3 0AN

ROUGH HAND MADE – CAKE JAR (£3.90)
This boutique family bakery is so named because homemade goods can be a little rough around the edges but taste just as good (sometimes even better). Its Christmassy cake jars are a case in point: slightly messy layered desserts in either banana and chocolate or Italian meringue with apple and cinnamon. Lovely jubbly. Rough Hand Made, Britannia Pavilion, Albert Dock, L3 4AD

LUNYALITA - SHERRY RAISIN SUNDAE (£6.95)
Another dockside dessert that’s not to be missed is this Spanish venue’s sundae (maybe followed by a tapas or few). Featuring Cheshire Farm vanilla ice cream, PX sherry infused raisins and crumbled turron, it’s buen provecho indeed. Lunyalita, Britannia Pavilion, Albert Dock, Liverpool L3 4AD

LIVERPOOL ICE FESTIVAL – YORKSHIRE PUDDING WRAP (£7)
The Pier Head festival has winter warmers aplenty but this Yuletide treat - a bastardised version of Yorkshire’s famous pud, packed with all Chrimbo dinner essentials - has to be up there. Just make sure to wolf down after those fairground rides/slides/skating…you get the gist. Liverpool Ice Festival, Canada Blvd, L3 1DP

FURNIVAL’S WELL - SMOKING BISHOP (£25)
There are few places more Dickensian than Furnival’s Well; a former Victorian prison and police station that employed the literary virtuoso himself. Now it’s a cosy cocktail bar that, together with a seasonal range of bevvies, makes for the perfect winter snug. We recommend Smoking Bishop: a blend of aged rum, port, red wine, citrus and spices designed for sharing between two to five people. Furnival’s Well, 1 Campbell Square, L1 5FB
