THE underground den of Fonseca’s, in Stanley Street, is to be transformed into a hell's kitchen this Halloween.

On the evenings leading up the spooky occasion (October 29-31), the bar/restaurant will have some extra staff in the form of local theatre company Jilted Pig who are presenting three nights of interactive Murder Mystery alongside a creative Halloween inspired menu.

Originally, the event was scheduled for one night only, Saturday October 31, but the appetite for such things was so high among paying punters that an extra two dates with the dead have been arranged.

General Manager Danielle Youds said: “Over the three evenings, our chefs will be cooking up a number of themed dishes with Halloween in mind and we will be encouraging our guests to indulge in solving our Murder Mystery with the help of our very own Detective Rothmere and Constable Jenkins. It’s set to be a very enjoyable occasion.”

The themed menu features dishes including Chicken Liver Pate, Welsh Black Beef Diablo and Duck Apple dessert, alongside vegetarian options such as Roasted Pumpkin Soup and Aubergine Diablo.

In line with the autumnal offerings, it will also be serving up seasonal beers including Brooklyn's Post Road Pumpkin Ale, Gourd Standard Pumpkin IPA and The Fear Imperial Pumpkin Ale throughout the cooler months.

Danielle added: “The offering has been so popular that two of the nights have already sold out, with remaining tickets for the Thursday night selling fast.

The murder mystery nights are priced £29.95 per, er, head.
