EXPECT the wurst - the bratwurst and the weisswurst that is - as Exchange Flags becomes a Mersey Munich next week.
It's Liverpool's very first Oktoberfest and the huge square behind the Town Hall will host five days of German beer, food, music and of course Lederhosen at the very first Liverpool Oktoberfest from Wednesday 14th – Sunday 18th October.
Libby Witherden, Head of Marketing and Events at Exchange Flags, said: “Right in the heart of the city, Exchange Flags is the perfect location for Oktoberfest. A festival renowned for bringing people together, we’re really looking forward to a good singalong, a great atmosphere and hopefully, lots of Lederhosen!”
With Schlager music, Bavaria festbeer and as much singing and dancing as physically possible, tickets are expected to sell out quickly. Traditional outfits are encouraged, and those attending on Sunday 18th will have the opportunity to experience Bavarian family culture with a traditional lunch.
Just turn up, say organisers. The event will be free to attend on Wednesday 14th, with tickets costing £5 on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th. On Saturday 17th, entry will cost £10, with the price going back to £5 for Sunday 18th.
Pre-booked and VIP tickets are also available.
There is also a package available which provides food, beer and a seat reservation for £34-£44 per person.
