HAS the city smog fugged your head? Do you need to get away?
You don't have to head to the hills, this weekend it's time once again for the theatre event that is a breath of fresh air enough.
Impropriety, Liverpool's merry band of improvisation performers are limbering up for this year's acting marathon at the Kazimier, and you are invited to be part of it.
The setting: the genteel 1950s English countryside village of Umbridge. The war is over so it's back to the quiet life of tweed and tantrums, farming and feuds, hedgerows and highbrows and knitting needles at dawn.
Forgoing the luxury of rehearsals, sleep and a script, the cast will create this unique, entirely improvised soap opera epic never seen before. Or again.
They say: "There's wellies to be wanged (wanged?), manors to be minded and forks to be pitchedin a comedy epic that will run continuously for 2014 minutes (33 hours and 34 minutes).
The Improvathon is based on a format created and made popular by Canadian company DIE-Nasty, who have held an annual 50-hour “Soap-a-thon” for over 20 years.
This year, Impropriety will be joined from improvisers from such companies as Showstopper, Project Two and Austentatious. Live improvised music will be provided by musicians including members of The Harlequin Dynamite Marching Band, Dead Hedge Trio, The Kazimier Krunk Band and Dogshow.
What is expected and how it works
The first episode of Umbridge will begin on Saturday 5th April at 1pm with doors opening every two hours until the final episode at 9pm on Sunday 6th April. Audiences are free to join the story at any point and to stay for as little or as long as they wish. Each episode begins with the ‘story so far’, so you won’t miss anything. Parental Guidance is strongly suggested, however our Family Episode taking place 11am - 1pm on Sunday will be suitable for audiences of any age.
Starts 1pm Saturday 6th April. Finishes 10.34pm Sunday 7th April. Episodes begin on odd numbered hours: 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, etc (yes, all through the night!)

£5 for ‘Children’s Hour’ (11am-1pm Sunday). Children get in free. All children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
£10 for 'Sleepover'' (11pm Sat – 9am Sun). Audiences encouraged to bring pyjamas and sleeping bags.
