A Cuban food shack from the kitchen duo behind The Buyers Club is to open in the Baltic Triangle later this week.

Galloping gourmets Michael Harrison and Daniel Heffy, who also run the the pop up Secret Diners Club, promise a range of authentic Cuban eats never seen in the city before when FINCA begins a seven-month "residency" within the Botanical Gin Garden this Thursday.

The menu will mainly revolve around Cubanos, a traditional Cuban sandwich, and slow cooked marinated meats that will be cooked on open-barrel barbecues on site.

The garden, in New Bird Street, has undergone major work this year with the addition of a heated and covered warehouse, which will act as a bar and dining room during the colder months.

Heffy says: “FINCA has been a long time coming. We’ve all visited Cuba numerous times over the years and wanted to serve up the country’s delicious street eats over here for some time.

"The Baltic Triangle, and the Botanical Gin Garden in particular, is the perfect location for us to launch our first concession so we jumped at the chance to get involved. We can’t wait to get started, you’ll find us at the Garden enjoying a Cubano and a beer in the sun this summer.”

Like Secret Diners Club, FINCA will host a number of unique and one off food events throughout the summer months.
