So if you’re doing a little research about an up-coming city break or just browsing possibilities, let us show you the best Manchester has to offer.
After all, spring is here and that means it’s mini-break time.
First up, accommodation.
In Manchester, you’re spoilt for choice with hotels but if you want to know where we’d recommend for a stay that mixes effortless cool and practicality, it has to be The Alan.
It’s right in the heart of the city centre, and it has that stylish weekend supplement look that will make everyone jealous when they see your socials.
Take a look and see for yourself.
Check in and check out what’s on your doorstep.
You can almost roll out of bed and straight into Manchester Art Gallery, it’s so close. However, we’d recommend a more leisurely start with coffee and croissants at The Alan first.
Other nearby attractions include the historic charm of the John Rylands library. It’s all Victorian gothic vaulted ceilings plus it has the nicest loos in the city with beautiful period tiling.

The National Football Museum is nearby too and if you’re into football, Old Trafford or City’s Emirates Stadium are an easy tram ride away.
Enjoy a bit of springtime at Castlefield Viaduct, a free National Trust project that has converted a disused part of the transport network into a garden walkway in the sky before returning to The Alan for cocktails before dinner.

Manchester’s food scene is a big draw. Why not book dinner at Louis, Another Hand or Higher Ground? In fact, enjoy dinner at Sexy Fish, the impressive Pan-Asian seafood restaurant as part of a partnership deal with The Alan.
Then off to bed - crisp white sheets, a sense of space and calm and those little touches from The Alan that make it one of the best hotels in the North.
