PARIS has got it. That certain something, that effortless je ne sais quoi. Côte is in town and Liverpool has got it too. That insouciant contentment that comes from leading a life well-lived, replete with good food and drink.
Côte effortlessly recreates the feel of a Parisian bistro. It’s an all-day event, somewhere you’ll want to linger whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
As well as serving up tasty French food, like all the best bistros, Côte serves up good value too
The authentic meals are freshly cooked to order and this is evident in every moreish mouthful: French onion soup, with its delicious aroma, is redolent of rustic kitchens whilst the spinach and mushroom crêpes are earthy yet light. Classics like beef bourguignon are rich and hearty, elevated by the accompanying chive and potato purée into a dish that positively radiates a warm glow of wellbeing and satisfaction.
As well as serving up tasty French food, like all the best bistros, Côte serves up good value too. Regularly changing lunch and early evening menus, inspired by seasonal ingredients, are well-priced at £9.95 for two courses and £11.90 for three courses.
The drinks menu is also well-judged, calling to mind long, lazy holidays. Both the Muscadet and the Côtes de Rhone are available by the bottle or the glass and are incredibly good value, with the latter full of rich forest fruit flavours and the Muscadet singing with vibrancy.
The aperitifs also make a great start to any meal and, throughout February, Côte are offering diners a complimentary glass of Kir Royale when they order a main course at either lunch or dinner.
To enjoy your free Kir Royale, simply quote Liverpool Confidential when you order. (Over 18s only).
