The creative collective will be at the centre throughout November and December for a host of festive workshops
Liverpool’s creative collective, All Over The Shop (AOTS), are bringing their funky DIY skills to the Metquarter this Christmas with a variety of local creatives, traders and artists in attendance. From fashion-based pop-up shops to a whole host of festive workshops, AOTS will be sure to spread the festive cheer across the shopping centre.
Founded by Bethan Flanagan, All Over The Shop aims to bring together the North West’s most talented artists and creatives, helping them connect, collaborate and network.
As part of the pop-up venture, AOTS will be hosting their very own Christmas-themed workshops in the centre, led by local creatives and small businesses with a focus on sustainability, customisation and traditional textile skills.
First up on the jam-packed festive roster is Painted Disco Balls on 15 November - in collaboration with Quirky Design Company, attendees are encouraged to ‘unleash their creativity and groove along to disco tunes’ as they make their very own wooden disco ball made from reclaimed wood which will make a perfect Christmas gift for any disco-loving friends and family members. A complimentary glass of fizz and snacks will be available and disco clothes are highly encouraged.
Tickets are available here.
For those who fancy giving cake decorating a go, AOTS will be partnering with The Secret Cake Kitchen for a Christmas Cake and Sip event on 28 November (6-8pm). Attendees can decorate their own Bento cake masterpiece, choosing from festive designs including Santa, snowmen, reindeer, wreaths, gingerbread men and more.
Tickets are available here.
On 5 and 8 December, Funk and Bloom will host a festive florals & fizz workshop where guests will be taught how to create their own wreath packed with fresh moss, festive foliage and Christmas decorations. Fizz and nibbles will be provided, as well as all your favourite Christmas tunes to get you in the holiday spirit.
Tickets are available here.
Kids can also get involved with the crafting festivities, too, with a special Festive Friendship Bracelets workshop on 18 December, courtesy of Cloverlea Crystals. Perfect for children aged 8 and above, this hands-on workshop offers a fun and creative way for kids to celebrate the season and forge new friendships. With an array of colourful beads, strings, and festive embellishments at their fingertips, they can make as many bracelets as their hearts desire - perfect for gifting to friends and family or keeping as holiday treasures.
Tickets are available here.
Other AOTS workshops this festive season include hoodie upcycling, crochet bow jewellery making, wine glass painting and ring silversmithing. More information and booking links to all workshops taking place can be found here.
Bethan Flanagan, Founder of All Over The Shop, said: “I am so excited to kick off All Over The Shop at Metquarter in the lead up to Christmas! It's great to be able to support the local creative community and celebrate local talent. The pop-up shops are a great way to shop small and find a unique gift for yourself or someone else, while the workshops we have planned mean you can have a creative night out and learn a new skill. It is great to be able to bring all these amazing artists and makers into Metquarter and make a creative hub for all. I'm over the moon with all the support All Over The Shop has received so far and I am so excited for these next six weeks!”
Jennina O’Neill, Metquarter Centre Manager said: “We are delighted to welcome Bethan back to the centre to run these amazing workshops and pop-up shops. Bethan is such a huge advocate of local creatives, and we want to support her as much as we can to make this a success. The workshops are the perfect opportunity to get creative and enjoy a day out with friends or family over the festive period.”
