‘Mersey Makers’ will showcase local talent, creativity and entrepreneurs in Liverpool City Centre
Bruntwood SciTech has launched ‘Mersey Makers’, a new festival that will land on 20 March and is designed to celebrate the plethora of skilled talent, innovation and diverse creativity that Liverpool has to offer.
This free-to-attend festival has been curated to celebrate Liverpool’s status as one of the UK’s leading cities of innovation over the years.
Taking place at St Paul’s Square outside The Plaza on Thursday 20 March (10am-2pm), the festival will feature a variety of workshops and entertainment, as well as 20 stalls of traders, makers and innovators, plus food and drink to enjoy. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about the crafts, processes, and innovations behind the businesses, and buy high-quality, locally-made products.
Those looking to get involved can take part in interactive, hands-on workshops which will take place inside The Plaza - one of Bruntwood SciTech’s innovation hubs in Liverpool city centre - throughout the day.

Kate Heathcote, Community Engagement Manager for Bruntwood SciTech, said: “Our aim for the Spring Festival is to showcase the amazing talent that Liverpool has to offer, and the fantastic innovations homegrown in the city that are putting us on the map both nationally and internationally,
“There’s going to be an impressive mix of traders selling their products, as well as offering insights into the creativity and technology behind their business making it a valuable experience for people to come along to eat, drink, shop and at the same time learn about what makes a good innovator from local traders and talent. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to The Plaza and St Paul’s Square and to see the buzz that the event will bring to the city centre.”
The festival will also feature an Innovation and Business Growth Breakfast event, organised by the company at its neighbouring Cotton Exchange building. The event will offer tech, digital and innovation-led businesses the opportunity to showcase their companies and follow with a panel discussing the support available for such businesses to drive momentum and growth and scale Liverpool’s tech sector.
Supported by Liverpool BID and the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, the Spring Festival aims to celebrate Liverpool being one of the UK's leading cities of innovation and showcase its most exciting, pioneering and innovative business ventures.
