All the big news from Yorkshire Evening Post's restaurant awards nominations announcement
Forget about the Oscar nominations, this week there’s only one awards announcement that matters: the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Leeds Oliver Awards 2018 shortlist!
D&D’s Modern British fine-dining restaurant Crafthouse has earned the most nominations this year, including nods for Best City Centre, Best British, Best Service, Best Fine Dining, and Best Chef for their head chef Lee Murdoch.
Newcomer HOME picked up four nominations - including Best Newcomer, Service, Fine Dining, and British - as did Ox Club and Vice & Virtue, who’ll also be battling it out in the Chef, Fine Dining, and City Centre categories, with the former also up for Best British, and the latter Best Service.
While the Michelin guide might think Man Behind The Curtain is worthy of their elusive star, the Yorkshire Evening Post - who have nominated Mr Nobody for best cafe/bar despite the fact it’s a restaurant and it closed down several months ago - obviously have more refined tastes. It’s put the restaurant up for a total of 0 awards this year - not even Best Street Food, whose nominees range from an actual street food vendor, to restaurants inspired by street food, to er, a kebab takeaway and a coffee shop.
The 2018 ceremony is expected to take place this March at Elland Road, the full list of categories and nominees - including Livin' Italy and Salvo’s competing for Best Indian - can be found on the YEP website, or, if you can’t be bothered filling out a survey to read the article, here:
