Now you can get an award-winning tasting menu delivered to your house

Cocktail bar and fine dining restaurant Vice & Virtue - winner of 2017’s Best Chef & Best Fine Dining Restaurant at YEP’s Oliver Awards, and recognised in the Good Food Guide last month - has announced a list of changes that it’s making to the business. The main news is that the tasting menu is expanding to an a la carte menu, and will be available in two more locations: their first-floor cocktail bar, and in your house.

In order for the restaurant to focus on their 7 and 10 course tasting menu offerings, the 5 course menu will no longer be available in the restaurant, however it will be available to order from the bar’s new a la carte menu, as part of the 18-25 dish menu which includes all of the tasting menu courses.

Guests who aren’t up for the full tasting experience - or haven’t been able to book into the dining room, which regularly sells out - are encouraged to “try (these dishes) individually, as tapas, or even create your own tasting menu” in the no-reservations bar. All of the dishes from the menu will be available for takeaway from the restaurant, as well as for delivery via Deliveroo.

Cocktails from the bar - headed by Dean Railton, in our humble opinion one of the city’s best bartenders - will also be available to order through the app. This means that theoretically, you could order an award-winning, Good Food Guide-listed tasting menu, plus matched drinks, to eat in your own living room. Or in bed.

It remains to be seen how chef Luke Downing’s meticulous presentation will fare after the dishes have bounced around on a bloke’s back for quarter of an hour. During delivery, I mean. Not in your bed.

As well as this, the restaurant will be joining the bottomless brunch brigade - although no specifics have been announced yet - and the bar is launching both a “Cocktail Encyclopedia” and a condensed seasonal cocktail menu to make sure no two visits (or deliveries) are the same.
