A FEMALE bystander on a Christmas night out was left with facial injuries and permanent nerve damage after being caught in a crossfire between two groups of brawling men in Heebie Jeebies.
At around 2.20am on Tuesday, 29 December, a fight broke out between the two factions at the popular Seel Street nightclub, during which one of the men threw a bottle towards the opposing group. It missed and hit the woman, and causing a deep cut close to her eye and nerve damage to her forehead.
Now Merseyside Police have issued images of five men, captured on CCTV, who they believe can assist with their investigation. Detectives are also appealing to anyone who can shed more light on the incident which they describe as “thankfully rare”.
Liverpool CID Detective Inspector Phil Mahon said: “This mindless violence has left a completely innocent woman with permanent nerve damage, and also understandably traumatised to have been attacked when on a night out with friends.
"Incidents like this are thankfully rare, but we are determined to bring the person responsible to justice and to continue to ensure that law-abiding members of the public feel safe in Liverpool City Centre.”
“We are keen to speak to all of the men pictured to help us in our enquiries and if you know any of these men, I would urge you to contact police immediately.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Liverpool CID on 0151 777 4094, call 101, or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
