The Sugnall Street fine dining spot reflects on a decade of service
Located in Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter, The Art School delivers upmarket, regionally-inspired dishes in a tranquil and contemporary setting.
Having opened in late 2014, the British restaurant took Liverpool’s foodie scene by storm and earned its place as one of the most renowned and well-respected venues in Merseyside and, yesterday, The Art School celebrated 10 years of serving up imaginative and carefully curated dishes.
At the restaurant’s helm is Paul Askew - AA rosette-winning Chef and local legend who keeps things running like clockwork. Yesterday, Paul (or ‘Porky’ as many lovingly know him by) took to social media to share his gratitude for the support shown to the business over the last decade.
“I just wanted to do a little message to say thank you for all the support and patronage over the years,” said Paul, adding “It’s an amazing thing to get to 10 years in this day and age and I think Liverpool has embraced The Art School and helped us make it into what it is today.”
Paul continues by thanking everyone who has visited the restaurant, past and present, as well as the ‘brigade’ who he goes on to say they would be “nothing” without.
To celebrate the milestone birthday, The Art School is hosting a series of events including ‘A Special Menu Excellence’ this Thursday (5 September) to celebrate Scouse Author, Screenwriter and former Actress Lynda La Plante’s book launch for her latest publication Getting Away With Murder.
The luxurious evening celebrates the author’s new memoir with Lynda La Plante herself in attendance and will kick off at 6:30pm in the elegant Art School Cellars with a welcome glass of Charles Heidsieck champagne accompanied by an assortment of Chef’s specially crafted snacks.
Guests will then be taken to the Lantern Room to enjoy a specially curated menu lovingly crafted by Chef Paul Askew and Vince Premel-Cabic designed to honour this special occasion.
Tickets include champagne and snacks on arrival, and a three-course gourmet menu with paired wines. Additional beverages are available to purchase throughout the evening.
Tickets for this event are priced at £165 per person and a portion of the money from every ticket sold will be donated to the Variety children’s charity.
This evening will be shortly followed by more events like The Art School’s new Wine Club, ‘Sugnall Sippers’, and Festive Bubbles with Charles Heidsieck events. Find out more here.
