YOU thought it was all about big jugs of Margharitas. Well it was. But that was last night. To make everything better this morning, it is about a stonking big fry up.

Now the Full English served by Smithdown Road's Tavern Co, has just been voted the best breakfast in the country.

The Mexican barbecue and student favourite, just yards Penny Lane, beat hundreds of venues across the UK,  amassing nearly 10pc of all votes to take the top prize.

Well banger me! you are saying.

Owner Keith Gurney, said: “We are overjoyed at winning this award. We know we make a fantastic breakfast as we cook around 2,000 breakfasts each week, 600 of which are full English breakfasts. It is humbling to know that our customers have taken the time to vote for us.”
