10 food and drink traders confirmed for grand reopening in July
Mexican tacos, Neapolitan pizza and sushi from the Pacific rim are just some of the food stalls set to feature at the new Southport Market when it opens this month.

All ten stalls at the revamped market quarter have now been confirmed and include a smorgasbord of local traders and street food vendors inspired by cuisines from the four corners of the globe. The £1.4m revamp of Southport Market also includes a bar area and a flexible events space to host pop-up markets and live music.
Pacific rim sushi
Southport Market will open to the public on Thursday 22 July, just in time to ride the last waves of summer with a selection of international street food, cocktails and live entertainment.
Sushi from “Pacific by Vincent” looks set to be one of the main attractions, fusing the spices and flavours of Asia and the Pacific rim. Paul Adams, owner of the Vincent Hotel, says he’s made up to bring his talented team of chefs for a residency at Southport Market.
"There's a new Vincent in town,” says Paul.
"Pacific by Vincent will open alongside nine other local vendors and we are so excited to welcome residents and visitors to what is an amazing regeneration of the market.
"Pacific will be serving many of our popular Vincent speciality dishes, from our beautiful salmon sushi rolls to our ‘gringo’ sushi range (for non-fish lovers) and Pacific Rim inspired food, including our award winning duck spring rolls.
"We cannot wait to welcome our existing regulars and hopefully many more new customers to this exciting venture which is a great step in boosting the local economy and tourism in Southport."
Nice features
A feature bar will be the centrepiece of the market, managed by the Mikhail Leisure group, the same team behind the Bold Hotel, Punch Tarmey’s, Doctor Duncans and The Brewery Tap.
Cllr Ian Maher, Leader of Sefton Council, says that July will be a very exciting time.
“We cannot wait to welcome thousands of visitors through the market's gates,” says Ian.
"Every single trader comes to the market with a passion and desire to ensure this project is a success and we are confident this will be one of the North West's best food and drink gems.
"We look forward to working with our traders and stall holders at what is an iconic location in the heart of Southport and, most importantly, welcoming residents and visitors to enjoy the space we have worked so hard to create."
New home for Neapolitan pizza
Traditional wood fired pizza from 600 Degrees will also be a big draw for the market. Dan Johnstone says his passion for pizza all started when he visited The Amalfi Coast and spent some time in Naples, the home of Neapolitan Pizza.
"I already had a great passion for cooking, so this gave me the inspiration to perfect my homemade pizza dough and follow the authentic methods of cooking pizzas,” Dan says.
“Each day, the dough will be freshly made in the 600 Degrees kitchen in the new market, using only the finest Caputo flour, yeast, salt and water then left to prove for 48 hours. We can’t wait to serve the people of Southport and are excited to be part of this exciting journey”
Allotment brings the gin
Ten traders will be in the starting line-up of food stalls, bringing the best in global cuisine to King Street. Local chef Paul Moore is set to launch Hector’s Mexicana, using local produce in Mexican street food favourites such as tacos and spicy burritos.
Canadian-inspired vendor Down and Oot will showcase poutine, a traditional Canadian dish featuring french fries covered in cheese curds and lashings of gravy. With bars already in Birkdale and Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Allotment are bringing big, bold American-inspired dishes to Southport Market, as well as lots of lovely gin.
The line-up is completed by King Street Bakery, Messy Moments, Birkdale Pie & Mash, Blackhurst Butchers, and Pitamu Greek street food.
