THE 19-year-old victim of Monday's assault off Priory Road, Anfield, has died.

Merseyside Police named him as Sean McHugh (pictured) of Walton. He was taken to hospital on Monday evening after being stabbed in an alley. 

Five people have been charged with attempt murder and violent disorder, four of them school children. But the charges against them are now expected to change. 

Reece O'Shaughnessy, 18, of  Anfield appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court today.   

Bail

Four males (two aged 14 years and two aged 13 years) appeared at Liverpool Youth Court yesterday charged with attempt murder and violent disorder.   

The two 14-year-olds and one of the 13-year-olds were remanded in custody to a secure accommodation. The other 13-year-old was given bail to an address outside the area. They will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on October 17.   

A 15-year-old male, 14-year-old male and 12-year-old male (all from Walton) who were arrested on suspicion of attempt murder have been released on police bail pending further inquiries. 


UPDATE, OCT 15, 2013: 

Merseyside Police can confirm that five people have now been charged with the murder of Sean McHugh following his death on the afternoon of 4 October. 

The five males (two14-year-olds, two 13-year-olds and 18-year-old Reece O'Shaughnessy, from Anfield) were originally charged with attempt murder and violent disorder. 

They will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 15 October 2013).
