Third venue for critically acclaimed Middle-Eastern inspired restaurant
The team behind Middle-Eastern inspired restaurant and cocktail bar Maray has revealed they will be opening a third site this summer at the iconic Royal Albert Dock.
The company’s expansion follows the success of the original Bold Street site and the Allerton Road venue in the south of the city.

The new Maray will join the Royal Albert Dock’s exciting rejuvenated food and drink line-up, which has seen a number of independent operators open over the past year including Spanish cantina Lunyalita, Rosa’s Thai Café's first venue outside London and family-run bakery Rough Hand Made. It’ll also join the eagerly anticipated Barrie Brothers’ new restaurant, which is set to open over the coming months.
The Maray signing is a pivotal one for Royal Albert Dock, and congruent with Aberdeen Standard Investment’s strategy to offer a collection of high quality independent leisure, hospitality and retail operators at the iconic destination.
Maray’s Royal Albert Dock menu is expected to be the same as the other two sites, offering a diverse selection of vegetarian, vegan and non-vegetarian small plates, inspired by the flavours of the Middle East.
The new site will have room for up to 65 covers with a cocktail bar offering a selection of creative drinks for sipping whilst overlooking the beautiful views of the Dock waterfront incorporating the largest group of Grade I listed buildings in the country, and part of Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage site.

Maray was founded five years ago by partners Thomas White, James Bates and Dominic Jones and the Bold Street site has since receiving rave reviews from national critics including the Observer’s Jay Rayner.
“As a business, Liverpool is where we’ve cut our cloth,” said co-owner Tom White, “Bold Street provided us with the perfect introduction to the hospitality scene and continues to do well. With such a diverse mix of visitors at the Royal Albert Dock, we felt we could introduce Maray to a new audience and we’re excited to grow with the launch of the third site.
“We were really impressed with the recent signings at the Dock, and we’re looking forward to being part of the new food and drink line-up.”
