A bit peckish
Confidential has had all manner of surreal dining experiences in its bid to eat and tell its way around Liverpool over the past seven years.

None however have been as other-worldly as the Feast of Fantasia at the Kazimier Garden last September.

Would they stage another? Who could say?

The good news is that the goodly folk at the Kaz are doing this weekend. It's called The Aviary, and rather than sit, you flit.

Feast Of FantasiaFeast Of FantasiaThis Sunday (and again next Thursday) you are invited to explore the enclaves of the Kazimier's evolving Winter Garden - to mingle with fantastical birds, finding snacks and nibbles at a drinks reception before being treated to a four course meal delivered amongst live audio, visual and theatrical performance.

Crumbs. A moveable feast.

The presentation, they say, will be as gourmet and bespoke as the menu, will endeavour to delight and satisfy rumbling tummies and hungry eyes.

Featuring local artists and members of The Kazimier, The Royal Standard and The Well Collective and a live score created and performed by musicians from Upitup, Mother Earth, A.P.A.T.T., King Twit and The Harlequin Dynamite Marching Band, this unique collaboration integrating music, live art and dining promises to be a singular and extraordinary immersive experience.

Whizz weekend
THE music starts, the fireworks are fired, the sky bursts into light and the audience ‘oooooh’ as they realise the fireworks are dancing with the music – in complete harmony.

The British Musical Fireworks Championship is no ordinary competition, each competitor is required to synchronise their display to music, to win the competition, making each display no ordinary display and this event one of a kind in the UK.

Southport's sky bursts into light as watch as some of the country's top pyrotechnic teams compete with stunning firework displays to try and win the prestigious industry title of UK Champions.

This year’s competition will be moved to Victoria Park, home of the Southport Flower Show, due to the Kings Gardens redevelopment.

This is not just an ordinary firework display; this is seven breathtaking, jaw dropping displays with only one winner!

*British Musical Fireworks, Fri-Sun, Oct 4-6, Victoria Park Southport, 7pm gates. £5. Under 5s free.

Camping it up

Liverpool’s multi award-winning Vogue Ball is back at the aptly named Camp and Furnace.

With a theme of ‘Gods and Monsters’ the Vogue Ball is a dance event like no other in the UK. Club culture meets high art and Vogue teams (known as ‘houses’) come together from far and wide to compete for dance supremacy, wearing lavish and creative costumes befitting (and often subverting) the given theme.

For the 4th year running the House of Suarez and renowned Liverpool image maker Matt Ford have collaborated to create the Vogue ball's sleek signature look.
