More giants
SEFTON Park will play host to not one, but TWO Halloween Lantern Parades this Sunday as the needs of younger kids are taken into consideration.
Now in its 10th year, the first parade will begin at 5.30pm, and involves a "mesmerising Giant Dreamer" before young attendees are packed off home for sweet dreams of their own, all courtesy of French masters of the surreal, Delirium Lumens.
The second parade will begin at 7.30pm before older attendees are packed off for a few cheeky Sunday scoops in Keith's, all courtesy of the French wine masters of the surreal, Delirium Tremens.
Extraordinary dreamscapes, talking stags, dancing wolves and things that go bump in the night will light up the dark around the park. Every sense will be stimulated with a field of floating fire flowers, huge illuminated megaliths, a gaggle of gamblers, dream doctors, diviners and fortune tellers.

Logan's run
Andrew Logan, flamboyant creator of the Alternative Miss World contests, has exhibited his jewellery and sculptures in glammy locations like New York, Mexico, India and Beverley Hills.
But locations don't get much glitzier than Upper Stanhope Street and that's where he's not at this weekend - although his work is.
Homotopia and The Gallery are to premiere a retrospective show of Logan's work, which will include items from his own sculpture museum in Berriew, in the Welsh Marches, as well as new commissions created for Welcome To My World.
All of his works reflect his obsession with mirrors — specifically broken ones. “I just love how broken mirrors fracture images — it's like looking through a hole and seeing another world!” he says.
The show launches with a big party on Friday night at The Gallery. Andrew, however, won't be welcoming you to his world. He's in Japan and has left the honours to his mate, Rula Lenska, who will be there purring like George Galloway's favourite feline as the warm white takes hold.
Part of Homotopia and the Biennial Independents 2012 Welcome To My World runs until mid November.

Colin Vearncombe
No need to run and hide
Remember It's A Wonderful Life?
No, it's not Christmas already, we're talking the song, the one that Black did back in the 1980s???
Anyroadup, the man behind it, Colin Vearncombe, is making a comeback, or should that be a comeblack? New album and a tour and the like, and there's a gig at the Kazimier next Tuesday.
Where's he been for the last 25 years? Who knows, but Colin has recently starred in a short film, is about to stage his third art exhibition and has written his first book of poetry, I Am Not The Same Person.
If you aren't deterred by the latter and have always wanted to touch Colin's clothing, he will be providing an intimate warm-up at the Music Consortium, the record shop at the top of Bold St, on Saturday afternoon. Do scratch around the racks, there's bound to be some old Black vinyl in there. Well yes, alright, it's all black.
