Four arts projects will receive a share of the funding, helping bring even more creativity to the city this summer

Four Liverpool arts projects have been awarded funding as part of Liverpool BID’s Arts & Culture Fund, with each being awarded a share of £30,000.

Among the projects receiving support is Just Browsing - a new exhibition at the Bluecoat that explores the experience of retail. Liverpool Art Fair, delivered by dot-art, will also receive funding as well as Katumba Drumming and Movement for their Halloween Parade in the city centre. A new app by The Modernist Society, which acts as a digital guide to explore the city's architecture on foot, is also being supported with funding.

Established by Liverpool BID Company, the Arts & Culture Fund is designed to support smaller cultural projects that increase footfall, encourage public engagement, and help animate the city centre. Now in its second year, the fund aims to showcase Liverpool's creative scene while also supporting artists and organisations across the city.

Julie Johnson, Chair of the Culture & Commerce BID, said:“We had almost 20 submissions this round, which shows how much enthusiasm and need there is for this kind of support. Art and culture bring life and energy to our streets, helping people discover and enjoy what the city centre has to offer,

“We received some incredible proposals, and our goal is to support projects that are smaller in scale but have a big impact. Culture is one of Liverpool’s greatest strengths, and it plays a huge role in supporting our local economy.”

Lucy Byrne from dot-art added:“We’re absolutely delighted to receive support from the Liverpool BID Company’s Arts and Culture Fund for Liverpool Art Fair 2025. This backing is invaluable in helping us continue our mission to make art accessible to everyone while showcasing the incredible talent of artists from across the region. The BID’s continued support shows a real commitment to the arts community and to making Liverpool a vibrant cultural destination.”

The funded projects will take place throughout summer and autumn 2025, offering fresh opportunities for the public to experience art and culture in the heart of the city.
