The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool will open in late February
IHG Hotels & Resorts will introduce its new series of luxury lifestyle hotels, the Vignette Collection, to the UK for the very first time this February, starting with the opening of The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool.
Paying homage to Liverpool’s maritime heritage, the 133-bedroom property marks the inaugural UK opening for this collection, adding to IHG’s fast-growing Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio.
From city centre-based boutique townhouses to blissful beachfront resorts, the Vignette Collection offers its guests one-of-a-kind stays in stunning destinations across the globe.
The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool stands in place of former 18th century rope-making warehouses, just a stone's throw away from the city’s iconic docks and waterfront. The hotel will feature chic, industrial interiors that pay homage to the area’s dockland heritage. There’ll also be plenty of vibrant, colourful flairs to reflect the artists and musicians that best showcased Liverpool’s vast expanse of culture over the years.
Liverpool is a melting pot of opportunity, and we look forward to offering authentic Liverpudlian hospitality to all those who visit us.
David Daly, General Manager at The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool, said “We are proud to be captaining the ship of IHG’s first Vignette Collection hotel in the UK. The concept of The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool, Vignette Collection was born from a belief that communities are stronger together – twisted, weaved, and intertwined like the rope that once lined the streets on which the hotel stands. Liverpool is a melting pot of opportunity, and we look forward to offering authentic Liverpudlian hospitality to all those who visit us.”
The hotel will have three different bedroom types, each paying tribute to Liverpool’s creative character. Some of the rooms will even give a playful, nostalgic nod to Liverpudlian toy manufacturer Meccano. Artwork from local artists will adorn The Halyard’s walls, ensuring that the city’s heritage is front and centre throughout.
There’ll also be a 200-seater restaurant and bar on site, serving globally inspired dishes with cultural influences of the city.
With up to 90% of the UK’s cocoa beans arriving through the Port of Liverpool, guests staying at The Halyard are invited to indulge in a shot of Champurrado; a velvety warm chocolate drink, with the option to infuse with a tot of Liverpool Lost Dock Rum - a nod to the daily rations of sailors’ past.
The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool, Vignette Collection has partnered with Mytime, a Liverpool-based charity that provides respite to unpaid carers through leisure, culture and educational activities. Complementary hospitality experiences donated by the hotel will provide much-needed downtime to carers in Merseyside and beyond.
