Because you can’t get to Maray, they’ll come to you
From Tuesday 24th November customers across the UK will be able to order one of the first Maray at Home boxes. The award-winning restaurant group started life in Liverpool in the summer of 2014 and their Middle-Eastern inspired food (including their signature ‘Disco Cauliflower’) soon earned them a die-hard following.
From the second you tear off the tape, we want you to enjoy yourself.
Six years on and Maray’s three founders; Thomas White, Dominic Jones and James Bates have opened two more sites in the city - one in the suburbs of Allerton and another on the UNESCO world heritage Royal Albert Dock.
Maray’s new meal kits serve two people and are priced at £45. Each box includes a selection of mezze, a DIY falafel kit, lamb kofta or aubergine shawarma, plus dessert. Only 100 boxes have been made available for delivery (or collection from their restaurant on Bold Street) for the launch week.
Customers can also enhance their boxes with optional treats from the bar. A selection of wines and ready-to-mix cocktails can be bolted on to each order, including the ‘Prickly Pear’ (a tequila and pear base complete with bay leaf garnish) and unique wines chosen by bar manager Mark Jackson.
Tom White, co-founder of Maray, said: “We’ve road tested loads of boxes from across the UK and have loved the attention to detail and experience.
“We’ve had such great support from our customers and community, so we really hope these boxes bring a bit of a smile back to people’s faces over the next few weeks. We’ve tried to pour as much Maray into them as possible, from the second you tear off the tape, we want you to enjoy yourself.’’
Maray at Home boxes are made from recycled cardboard and padded with biodegradable and compostable wool.
