8 by Andrew Sheridan nominated alongside other Northern gems just four months after opening

After just four short months Liverpool’s newest fine dining restaurant has picked up a raft of nominations in this year’s British Restaurant Awards.

8 by Andrew Sheridan has been shortlisted in five categories ahead of one of the UK’s most prestigious restaurant awards, taking place in that there London next month.

Being shortlisted just a few months after opening in Liverpool is pretty remarkable

The awards will see Andrew compete on five fronts with the likes of perennial nominee and your Tory uncle’s local The Fat Duck, grinning money pit Gino D’Acampo and the Brunei-backed, bad-taste-in-the-mouth morsels of Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester.

Having only been established in Liverpool since April, the North-Wales raised chef is already up for Best New Restaurant in 2023; Best Culinary Experience in 2023; Best Luxury Restaurant 2023; Restaurant of the Year 2023; and Best Restaurant in Liverpool.

In further proof of the culinary north making a march on the likes of Mayfair and Soho, the fine dining restaurant on Cook Street joins fellow nominees Moor Hall in Aughton, Adam Reid at The French and Leeds’ The Man Behind The Curtain.

Andrew, who also owns neighbourhood bistro OXA in The Wirral with business partner Sam Morgan, was thrilled to be included alongside some of the culinary world’s biggest hitters.

“To be shortlisted for five awards in such esteemed company is incredible,” he said. “It would be amazing to win but being shortlisted just a few months after opening in Liverpool, is pretty remarkable.”
