TOUR operators and travel agents from India, China and Brazil have been doing a recce of the city this week as the first guests of David Cameron's new Local Enterprise Partnership.

The three delegations were here as part of a wider UK jolly, attended by several countries, all spearheaded by Visit Britain.

LEP marketing supremo Duncan Frazer said: “With events such as the Olympics attracting worldwide attention the international spotlight is shining on the UK during 2012, providing the perfect opportunity to enhance Liverpool City Region’s profile as an international visitor destination.”

The guests variously saw the city by bus, got a tour of Liverpool Football Club and dinner hosted by Liverpool City Council, a museum visit, saw a Beatles tribute band at the Cavern Club and finally got a ride on the Yellow Duckmarine.

It's not yet known how they will report back on all this excitement.
