MERSEY residents are being asked to sign up to the Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust as it aims to become one of the first Community Foundation Trusts in the country.
Throughout the summer, LCH will be asking residents of Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, St. Helens and Halton to become a member of LCH and have a greater say in how community health services are run.
Becoming a member of the Trust is free of cost, and anyone aged 12 years or over and living in these areas can sign up.

“Having an active and engaged membership will enable us to strengthen our accountability to individuals, families and communities in how we deliver different community health services.
“Our services cover everything from district nursing, dental services, GPs and walk in centres, to dieticians, sexual health services, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, vaccinations and much more besides. Being a member of LCH gives people the opportunity to help shape some of these different services to match local needs.”
Over the coming weeks, a team of staff will be out and about with the ‘I Love LCH’ van, raising awareness of the Trust and encouraging people to join up.
LCH aims to recruit at least 2,500 public members by October 2012, who will then be able to elect 13 public governors to represent their views on its Council of Governors.
Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust core services include District Nursing, Community Matrons, School Nurses, Health Visitors, Dental Services, Walk-in Centres, and Sexual Health.
It also provides specialist health services from Prison Healthcare, Community Equipment and Wheelchair Service, to outreach for vulnerable groups and the Family Nurse Partnership.
