WRITING on the Wall is looking for a writer in residence for two days a week.

The contract will run until March 2013 though it may be extended subject to funding. The writer in residence will lead on a number of community based creative writing projects, engaging diverse and often "hard to reach" groups and individuals.

The post holder will organise and deliver workshop based projects in a variety of locations across Liverpool and a range of settings which may include community centres, prisons and city centre bars and cafes.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide support to new writers preparing for publication as a result of WoW’s projects. WoW’s writer in residence will be an active ‘Writing Champion’, adding value to all the organisation's work, helping to raise the profile of WoW as a centre of excellence through their own work, and the development of the writers they will inspire and support.

Salary: £22,000 pro rata, two days per week.

Closing date for applications: Wed 5th Sept 2012

Date of interviews: 14th September

Since its formation in 2000, Writing on the Wall (WoW) has carved out a strong identity as a dynamic, forward thinking writing development organisation and built one of the most diverse audiences of any mainstream organisation in the North West. In recognition of its ability to deliver artistic excellence, develop new audiences and inspire new writing, WoW became a new Arts Council Portfolio organisation in April 2012. WoW is an award winning organisation which organises a programme of writing projects and live literature events, and a high profile, month-long, annual writing festival.
