AN elderly woman who was riding a mobility scooter when she was in collision with a van, has died from her injuries.
The incident happened outside the gates of Croxteth Hall Park, in Croxteth Hall Lane, last Monday (October 27) lunchtime.
The 87-year-old was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries; a fractured skull, a bleed on her brain and a broken back and ribs. Her condition was initially described as critical but later downgraded to "seriou."
Next-of-kin were today in the process of being informed and a full investigation was on-going to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Witnesses said a red Transit van, travelling southbound along the leafy country lane was in collision with the scooter whose passenger was thought to have been crossing the road. The driver, who was unhurt, stopped at the scene and is still helping police with their enquiries.
