Liverpool's two municipal firework displays, on November 5 this year, will be dedicated to the British Armed Forces with the theme "Salute to the Services".
Taking place at Sefton and Newsham Parks, the free illuminations both start at 7.30pm and will be synchronised to inspiring and bracing music related to the UK's Army, Royal Navy, Air Force and Royal Marines.
There's no Jean Michel Jarre in sight. Instead, the playlist for Wednesday evening includes Crown Imperial, Hearts of Oak, The Dambusters, I Vow to Thee My Country, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.
Liverpool’s Assistant Mayor Councillor Wendy Simon said: “These displays are always hugely popular, with around 40,000 people enjoying the fireworks across both parks last year.
Fireworks“We want everyone to enjoy November 5, yet be safe at the same time, and organised displays are a great way to achieve this."
Spectators are advised to travel on foot or use public transport, leaving plenty of time to travel to the event. There is limited accessible parking at Croxteth Drive, Sefton Park and Gardners Drive at Newsham Park.
The displays will last for approximately 20 minutes, says the council. Those attending the events are asked not to bring their own fireworks, sparklers, dogs or Chinese lanterns.
