Proposals for a new rooftop bar & restaurant have been released
Plans have been submitted for a potential new leisure space at Trinity Leeds, including an extension to the shopping centre’s current rooftop dining area.
Punters have probably been too busy stuffing their faces to notice, but there’s a vacant unit in the shopping centre directly above Trinity Kitchen at the west end of the centre, and permission has been sought to pave the way for occupation by a “major prospective tenant”.
Looking at Trinity’s current quality line-up of tenant - Crafthouse, Cielo Blanco, Pintura, Alchemist - you can bet it’s not gonna be a McDonalds.
The 15,000 sq ft space on the top floor - previously occupied by Boots - would be converted into a restaurant and bar, with a 2,500 sg ft decked roof terrace above it, overlooking Bond Street. The terrace would be accessed via a dedicated lift - Crafthouse & Angelica style - from either the street level or the restaurant, and via a “feature” staircase.
The proposals are expected to fit in with the tone of existing leisure and restaurant offerings, including Trinity Kitchen, as well as the wider retail uses within the shopping centre, and an estimated 70 jobs would be created by the redevelopment.
