ITV primetime celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo has revealed plans for a new 150-cover Italian restaurant in Leeds city centre.
Following the success of openings in Manchester and London, the imaginatively-titled Gino D’Acampo - My Restaurant brand is expanding with another new opening on Leeds’ Park Row - directly opposite fellow celeb-chef Jamie Oliver’s Italian casual dining outlet Jamie’s Italian.
Gino’s new 150-cover gaff is spread across two storeys, decked out in white marble and green leather reminiscent of restaurant decor in Gino’s southern-Italy homeland. It'll feature an open kitchen, devoted cocktail and wine bar, and an even more casual drop-in deli.
"After months of planning for the opening, I can’t wait to welcome guests to My Restaurant, Leeds," says D'Acampo.
"Every effort has been made to make sure our guests have a true Italian experience – we've got some great dishes for you to try. I'm looking forward to treating Yorkshire to a real taste of Italy."
Expected to open after the November airing of new ITV show Gino’s Italian Escape and the book of the same name, the restaurant will occupy the plot currently housing Piccolino - which is relocating to as-yet unannounced, larger premises in the city centre.
