One of Leeds’ biggest food festivals will return in 2020 with not one but two two-day events
Prepare yourselves as May 8th-10th will see a spring festival at Roundhay Park with a summer equivalent happening on August 1st-2nd.
The sheer scale of the festival guarantees that there will be something for everyone; sprawling markets, showcasing the best in artisanal food; live entertainment and music; and of course, plenty of fun for the kids too. The Live Cookery Theatre will also be returning, with several top chefs in line to make an appearance at both dates.
As seasoned NLFF goers will know, international trade plays a major role in the festival, and the organisers have also promised an increased number of vegan traders to meet demand. Meanwhile, for the daytime drinkers, there will be 9 bars offering booze from mojitos, Prosecco, cider and a range of beers in partnership with Ilkley Brewery.
Over the course of the festival, there will be several charitable events, raising money for Leeds Mind. The previous four years have seen over £18,000 raised for several mental health charities.
Festival Director, Michael Johnston, said, “It’s our 5th year anniversary this year, and what better way to celebrate than to combine the celebrations with VE day on May 8th. Furthermore, we’re honoured & privileged to host two events at Roundhay Park in 2020. We had an incredible year last year. A fantastic day for everyone involved.”
