The fifth year will be the biggest yet

Leeds Indie Food is back, and it promises to be the biggest yet as the festival celebrates its fifth year between 9th – 27th May this year.

Expect another event packed with exciting collaborations, concepts and pop-ups, all in line with the Eat, Drink, Do philosophy of the festival.

Independent food is year-round, not just for May

But this year will also introduce two new strands – Outdoor and Celebration – making their debut as the festival continues to grow and explore new ideas. Look out for heritage site takeovers as well as all manner of interesting locations throughout Leeds and the surrounding suburbs.

Among the most exciting new initiatives this year is the LIF Patron Scheme, which has been created to support new and developing businesses within the Leeds indie scene. £40 a year will make you a Leeds Indie Food Patron, allowing you access to exclusive previews, discounts, a special pin badge and, of course, the odd freebie here and there. The membership runs from January to December and can be purchase through the LIF website.

Leeds Indie Food run regular Eat North events throughout the summer

The Leeds Indie Food festival attracts over 25,000 people a year and that’s not even including the regular Eat North events that run through the summer. Patrons will also receive a stamp card for 8 free beers at Eat North – a reminder of this year’s philosophy that independent food is year-round, not just for May.

We’ll have the lowdown on the first event announcements very soon, so keep checking back for more details on passports, tickets and more.

If you want to run an event at Leeds Indie Food, there’s still time. Submissions close on 14th February – click here for more details.
