Grab the last few tickets for Hidden Harewood with Josh Whitehead

When the latest edition of the Harewood Food & Drink Project’s flagship Hidden Harewood event was announced a few weeks ago, it didn’t take long for the tickets to be gobbled up (pun intended).

There’s no need to wear a suit – but you might need wellies

In fact, it sold out so quickly that two new sittings have been added for each of the three nights (Thursday 29th, Friday 30thand Saturday 31stAugust) as well as an extra 6:30pm sitting on Sunday 1stSeptember. Good news if you were indulging in a bit of handwringing over what might have been.

Picture this. 25 guests whisked away in one of Harewood’s vehicles to some of the most remote locations on the Capability Brown-designed estate, for a nine-course seasonal tasting menu designed by Executive Chef Josh Whitehead (of Ox Club fame). Hidden Harewood has taken its guests to hunting lodges, follies, barns and some of the most stunning al fresco locations, where diners can inhale a bit of the countryside in between sips of wine.

Such settings lend themselves perfectly to an informal fine dining experience. So there’s no need to wear a suit – but you might need wellies and a warm coat; after all, this is England.

The Harewood Food & Drink Project was set up to showcase the best of the produce on the estate – meat, fruit and veg, herbs and of course, Harewood gin. And with these special events, it certainly manages to do so. In fact, if you haven’t heard of or been to a Hidden Harewood event before, you might want to read our write-up of the first event back in December 2017. Rest assured, these are special events that are well worth the admission for the surroundings alone, let alone the quality of food and drink on offer.
