Lucky Number 7 will take over the doomed Ham & Friends site
Looks like Friends of Ham have found a new use for the Grand Arcade space that housed the doomed Ham and Friends.
They plan to open a New York-inspired (but also a bit Irish) sports and beer bar called Lucky Number 7 - which is about as far removed as you can get from H&F's smart Scandi-influenced deli-cum-eaterie with specialist cheese room and wine school.
Opening this month (possibly the 17th) at 7 Merrion Street, Lucky Number 7 will offer an impressive twenty beer taps, stacked beer fridges, spirits and cocktails, alongside American-style street food kitchen pop-ups, starting with Tacos al Pastor every weekend.
They'll be showing all major UK, USA and Irish sports, including 'college sports' (we're guessing they mean American football, basketball and so on, not rounders at Leeds City College), as well as hosting gigs, beer events, games nights and all that carry on.
