New Leeds Trinity branch is offering £5 pizzas to punters and free pizzas to local shelters and food banks
Its Leeds branch only opened on Tuesday (23rd) but UK-wide pizzeria Franco Manca is already making its mark on local communities, with an opening fortnight of philanthropy. For every pizza enjoyed by customers in the new Trinity centre venue, one pizza will be donated to Leeds-based homeless shelters and food banks, and the team are looking for suggestions to add to their list.
We’ll be donating one pizza to a local charity or shelter for each one bought, showing support for our new neighbours
Emiliano Ruzzu, Head Pizzaiolo at Franco Manca Leeds, said: “We’ll be donating one pizza to a local charity or shelter for each one bought, showing support for our new neighbours. If you know anyone who might benefit from this, please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!”
Also during opening fortnight, until Tuesday 5 August, all pizzas on the menu and the daily changing specials board will be available to eat-in customers for £5 – the price of the first pizza on their menu.
UK pioneers of sourdough Neapolitan pizza and natural Italian wine purveyors, Franco Manca started out over ten years ago, in 2008, in London’s Brixton Market. Fresh sourdough bases are handmade on site every day. First procured by the pizzeria’s founder Giuseppe Mascoli, near the city of Naples, the slow-rising sourdough is unique to Franco Manca and dates back to the late eighteenth century, and the recipe still honours the ingredients and methods that make the age-old style of Neapolitan pizza unique, delicious and world famous.
Toppings wise, organic and locally sourced ingredients are used where possible, and you can choose from seven regular meat, veg and vegan pizza options, including fan-favourite ‘the no. 4’, which features roasted cured ham, wild mushrooms and a mix of mozzarella and buffalo ricotta cheeses.
Dan Wharton, Marketing Manager at Trinity Leeds, says: “We are delighted to welcome Franco Manca to our vibrant food offering at Trinity Leeds. It’s great to see the store showing additional support for the local community that we serve, and we hope people stop by to tuck into the scrumptious sourdough pizza – knowing that they will be feeding the homeless at the same time.”
