WHY stay at home and toss your own on Pancake Day when there are so many batterful delights out there to choose from? Here are five places to get your pancake fix:
LE CHALET
Avid crepophiles will make a beeline for this French bakery up on Park Row for their ‘unlimited pancakes’ offer on Monday February 12th and Tuesday 13th between 2pm and 8pm (limited places, booking essential). All you can eat in an hour, from £9.50, depending on topping. Keep it traditional with some French cider on the side.

BUNDOBUST
Pancake Day is Dosa Day at the acclaimed craft beer bar/Indian veggie kitchen. Specially created for Shrove Tuesday (and staying on the menu for Valentine’s) is their Sweet Sweet Dosa (£5) – mango rice crepe with mango, pistachio, cardamom and mascarpone cream. And if you’d rather go savoury, check out their revamped vegan dosa on the new menu. They have replaced the yoghurt chutney with a vegan coconut one, plus the filling is now Aloo Gobi (potato and cauliflower).

From 8am-5pm on February 13 they’ll be serving an array of sweet and savoury pancakes (restricting the lunch choice). Try the rye and buckwheat crêpe with crispy potatoes, herb house ricotta, brown butter capers and a fried egg (£6.50), the classic crêpe, almond crème, roast rhubarb, sour cream, sugared almonds (£5.50) or, our fave, hot chocolate Dutch baby, banana, cardamom crème fraîche ice cream, salted chocolate caramel sauce (£4.50).

ANGELICA
Angelica will celebrate Shrove Tuesday with a pop-up American-style Pancake Bar 10am-10pm. Expect 10 different toppings, with classics like Nutella or bacon with maple syrup. The sweet-toothed will zoom in on the special candy topping or Bailey’s cream with rum ’n’ raisin ice cream. You’ll get three big pancakes for £9.

HYDE PARK BOOK CLUB
This fabulous coffee shop/craft beer haven/events space in a former garage, is celebrating its second birthday with a pancake extravaganza. They are holding a build-your-own pancake day feast 10am-4pm with vegan-friendly pancakes available. There will be a massive range of toppings, including: Vegetarian Butcher bacon, Vegetarian Butcher sausage, chocolate chips, Oreo shards, ice cream, glitter, blueberries, cherry compote, macadamia creme, maple syrup, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, banana, pecans and caramel sauce.
